Social responsibility is an ethical framework which suggests that an entity ,be it an organisation or an individual has an obligation to act for the benefit of society at large. Social responsibility is a duty, every individual has to perform so as to maintain balance between the economy and ecosystems. It is a core ingredient in any proffessional's life,especially in today's generation which is loosing it's bond with the society.

Vidya Academy(VAST) has given due importance to value added studies to impart quality education to it's students. Vidya has two well organised and very actively functioning NSS units,101 and 200.

National Service Scheme is under the ministry of youth affairs and sports, government of India, popularly known as NSS which was launched in 1969, focusing on the personality development of students and community studies. Unit 101 was established in the year 2003. Considering the quality work done by this unit and the number of enrollments, VAST was sanctioned one more unit in the year 2008(Unit 200).

The NSS units of VAST has contributed many innovative technical projects to the society. Community service rendered by the two units has taken several dimensions like adoption of villages for intensive development work, carrying out the medico-social service, setting up of medical camps, programs for mass awareness, sanitation drives, adult eduction programs for weaker sections of the community, blood donation camps, helping patients in the hospitals, helping inmates at orphanages and the physically challenged. The units have also generously involved in fund raising programmes during various natural calamities and disasters. The NSS units in VAST have also indulged in agricultural activities, thus creating a link between students and nature.
